    When Milton was first settled in the early 19th century, Sixteen Mile Creek flowed right through the middle. The creek was dammed creating a mill pond.

    Fruit farming was of great importance to Oakville in the early 20th century. Oakville strawberries gained a reputation for being of superior quality and size.

    Frank Chisholm and Hazel Booth were married in April of 1938.

    Hornby School was a "union" school with students from both Mississauga and Trafalgar Township as it sat on the town line between the two.
