The curiosity of a great many Evans- tonians has been aroused by observing the green boxes surrounding the trees in front of the Avenue house, which were placed there last week by Host Norman A. Ross of the hostelry. The boxes are painted a brilliant green and are ph.ced about fifteen feet from the ground. The Idea Host Rosa Intends to carry out is a German one. In Berlin all the trees along the principal boule- vards have these boxes attached to them. In them are placed beautiful flowers, which are kept free of dust by the city sprinkler spraying dhem early each morning. Those who have seen the boxes In Berlin praise the Idea highly. Mr Ross is filling the boxes this week with flowers or a brilliant hue. Each morning he will have the Janitor spray them so they will al- ways look fresh and be free of dust If the experiment proves a success, Mr. Ross hopes other residents will take up the idea and beautify their trees. The cost of each box is about $3. WANTS HIS OWN BOYS ARRESTED IF CAUCHT A request has been made to the po- lice by William Scully, manager of a garage at Benson avenue and Clark street, to arrest any boy employed by. him who is found speeding electric autos being delivered to the owners. All of the boys employed by Scully are in uniform and some complaint of fast driving has been made. In or- der to protect hi* patrons and the pub- lic from accident, Mr. 8culiy * has asked the police to keep a close watch for the youthful speeders.
