Intercepting Stiver We believe that the construction of the intercepting sewer by the Sanitary District is not an issue in this campaign. We find that the present administration has passed an ordi- nance providing that the Sanitary District shall build this sewer-at its own expense. The work is now in progress and will be completed within a few-months. When completed all of the village sewage will be diverted into the Sanitary Canal without any expense whatever to the Village. Annexation of "Oklahoma" We.favor the annexation of the territory sometimes known as "Oklahoma," bringing this district under Village control. Public Imprmements We favor the resurfacing wjtivbrick of thrstreets in the business district. This improvement should not be delayed, as the present condition of these streets is not in keeping with the pavements in the residence parts of the Village; - / Street Lighting We find that the Village Board last November, by unanimous vote, renewed its contract with the Welsbach Street Lighting Co, for a period of five years. It will, therefore, be impossible to change the present arrangement, but we favor in- creasing the number of street lamps as rapidly as the needs of the Village demand. -. Electric Street Railroad We favor taking such action before the Public Utilities Commission in reference to the electric street railroad as may| be permitted by the act recently passed creating this com- mission, :: - ------â€".lis.'- 'â- "" ":." .
