In the matter of the petition of the Village of Wilmette for the ascer- tainment oi trie just compensation to be made for private property to be taken or damaged for the opening of West Railroad Avenue from the north line of Elmwood Avenue to the East line of Fifteenth Street, in the Village of Wilmette, Cook County, Illinois, and what property will be benefited by such improve- ment and the amount thereof. Notice is hereby given to the de- fendants designated as "All whom it may concern," and all persons and parties named in the report and as- sessment roll of the Commissioners filed in the above entitled cause in said court against whose property benefits have been assessed to pay the cost of the said improvement hereinafter described, that the Vil- lage of Wilmette Heretofore fited a petition in the County Court of Cook County, praying for the ascertain- ment of the just compensation to be made for private property to be taken or damaged for opening and extend- ing West Railroad Avenue from the North line of Elmwood Avenue to the East line of Fifteenth Street, in the Village of Wilmette, Cook County, Illinois, in accordance with the provisions of an ordinance for the making of said improvement, said ordinance being on file in the office of the Village Clerk, and also what real estate will be benefited by such improvement and the amount of such benefits to each parcel. That Commissioners were duly ap- pointed by said court to investigate and report the just compensation to be made for private property to be taken or damaged for said improve- ment, and also what real estate will be benefited by such improvement, and the amount of such benefits to each parcel of land benefited thereby, and said Commissioners have duly made their report and have duly made a special assessment to raise the cost of said improvement, and have duly filed their report and as- sessment roll in the office of the Clerk of said Court on the thirty- first day of December, A. D. 1917. That the total cost of said improve- ment, as shown by the said Com- missioners' estimate and report here- in, is the sum of Fifty-four Hundred and Twenty Dollars ($5420.00); that a special assessment has been made to raise the cost of the said improve- ment, and that the report thereof was filed in the office of the Clerk of said Court on the thirty-first day of December, A. D. 1917, and that the proceedings are now pending. The following is a description of the lots, tracts or parcels of land sought to be taken or damaged for the improvement aforesaid, viz.: That part of the Northeast Quarter (N. E. J4) of fractional Southeast Quarter (S. E. Ya) of fractional Sec- tion Twenty-eight (28), Township Forty-two (42), North, Range Thir- teen (13) East of the Third Principal Meridian, lying East of the East line of Fifteenth Street and West of the Southwesterly line of the right of way of the Chicago & Northwestern Railway Company; Lot Seventeen (17) in Block One (1) in E. T. Paul's Second Addition to Wilmette, being a subdivision of the East 13.4/100 acres of the South Half (S. Yz) of the fractional South-j east Quarter (S. E. 54) west of the » railroad, of Section Twenty-eight | (28), Township Forty-two (42) North, Range Thirteen (13) East of the Third Principal Meridian (excepting the South 6.34 chains); Also all those parts of Lots One (1), Two (2), Three (3), Four (4), Five (5), Six (6), Seven (7), Eight (8), Nine (9), Ten (10), Eleven (11), Eighteen (18) and Nineteen (19) in Block One (1) in E. T. Paul's Second Addition to Wilmette aforesaid, which lie East of a tine fifty (SO) feet Southwesterly of and parallel with the Southwesterly line of the right of way of the Chicago & Northwest- ern Railway Company; all situated in the Village of Wilmette, in the County of Cook and State of Illinois. You are further notified that sum- mons in said cause was duly issued out of said court against the above named defendants, which said sum- mons is returnable to the February Term, A. D. 1918. of the said County Court, to be held in the Court House. in the City of Chicago, County and State aforesaid, on the 11th day of February, A. D. 1918, as is by law required, when and where you may appear and plead, answer or demur to the petitioner's petition and object to the report of the Commissioners as aforesaid, and upon your failure so to do, the same and the matters and things therein charged and stated will be taken as confessed and a judgment entered in accordance with the said report and the prayer of said petition. FOLLOWING are official wheatless recipes supplied by the Food Ad- ministration for use in homes and public eating places: Corn and Oatmeal Muffins. 6 ounces of butter and lard. 5 ounces of sugar, 4 eggs. 1 pint milk. 6 ounces of cornmeal. Yz pound barley flour. 54 ounce of baking powder. The above to make 3^ dozen. • Corn and Barley Muffins. 6 ounces of butter and lard, 5 ounces of sugar. 4 eggs. Salt. Yz pound yellow cornmeal. % pound barley flour. 34 ounce of baking powder. Recipe for 354 dozen. Corn Pones. 1 quart cornmeal. 1 pint buttermilk. Yz teaspoon soda. 1 teaspoon salt. 1 teaspoon baking powder. Yz cup melted lard. Form in oval shape with large spoon. Bake in oven. Corn Cake. 1 quart pearl meal. 1 pint buttermilk. Yz teaspoon salt. 1 teaspoon baking po-.^der. Yz teaspoon soda. 2 eggs. Yz teacup melted lard. Cook on griddle iron. Corn Hoe Cake. (Old fashioned) 1 pint corn meal mixed with boiling water; cook on griddle iron; make in cakes of Yi inch thick and 4 inches round. Serve on plate with a knife between the cake and plate. Use no cover. Pie Crusts. Any pie or tart can be made with these wheatless crusts: I. Y2 lb. barley flour. Y2 lb. rice flour. 4 oz. butter. 4 oz. lard. 1 teaspoon salt. Y2 teaspoon sugar. A little water in mixing dough. II. 54 pound rice flour. 54 lb. barley flour. 4 oz. butter. 4 oz. lard. 1 teaspoon salt. 54 teaspoon sugar. A little nutmeg or mace. A little water in mixing dough. Croustode open-face pies; also tartlets used in French pastry: 1 lb. rye or corn bread crumbs. 1 lb. barley flour. ?4 lb, of sugar. Yz lb. of butter, 12 ounces of lard. 6 eggs. Yz pint of milk. 1 teaspoonful of cinnamon. Yz teaspoonful of cloves. 2 lemon peels. 1 teaspoonful of vanilla extract.
