St. Augustine's Episcopal church, Satur- day evening, of last week. Rev. Hubert C. Garleton read the service at 8:30 o'clock. The bride was attend- ed by her sister, Mrs. William J. Lavery of Evanston as matron of honor, and Miss Laura'Browne, maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Lawrence McCormick, of Memphis, Tenn., Miss Henrietta Bush, Miss Emily McCormick, sisterof the groom, Miss Dorothy Robbins, Miss Harriet Ridgway of Kenilworth, and Miss Virginia Buchanan of Winnetka. Lawrence McCormick of Memphis attended his brother as best man, and the ushers were Messrs. W. J. Lavery, Ames Ross, Percy Parker, Arthur Syme, John Kimbark, Charles Dawes and Ernest Rubsamen of New York City. The bridal gown was of white satin, trimmed in rose point lace, the skirt of which was corded, and made short. There was a court train. Her veil, which fell the full length of the train was fastened on the head with a coronet of rose point lace. She car- ried a shower bouquet of white roses, orchids and lilies of the valley. The attendants were gowned alike in pink taffeta frocks, made with full skirts and tight corded bodices, and varying in shade from pale pink to a rose worn by the matron and maid 6f honor. Pink scarfs of tulle were draped about the shoulders and arms, terminating in a large rosette fastened at one side of the head. They carried bouquets of lavendar sweet peas and pink roses. The little ribbon stretchers, Carol Knapp and Jane Crowe, wore frocks of blue and pink, and the flower girl, little Barbara Crowe, was dressed in white over pink. A reception at the home of the bride's parents, 908 Greenwood ave- nue, followed the ceremony. The house was beautifully decorated with pink and white chrysanthemums, southern smilax and palms. This week Mr. and Mrs. McCormick are in the Thousand Islands, and later will go to New York and to Mr. Mc- Cormick's old home in Philadelphia. They will be at home after November 1, at the Maple Court apartments, 1119 Maple avenue. Miss David- son, who is actively interested in this great idea of play, and who has only recently returned from Prance, and four young people who have been trained in this sort of work will be at the Wilmette Woman's club to or- ganize a Play Institute, which is to he financed through this War Chest Fund. An invitation is extended to the residents of the village, as well as the school teachers to attend this meeting and to avail themselves of the training which the Institute will offer here the first week in Nov- ember. â€"*â€" The I ndies' Aid societv of the Methodist church held their first meeting of the conference year last Thursday. October 7. It was a large and »vide-a\vuke meeting fully alive to the importance and extent of the now program for Wilmette Meth- odism, and the society is planning for the largest year's work that has ever been undertaken by the Wilmette or- ganization.
