^â„¢pn THE LAKE SHORE NEWS. FRIDAY, AUGUST 5. 1921 WILMETTE AT WORK SAVING THE TREES Many Householder* Respond To Call In Spraying Program of Wilmette Improvement Association Wilmette has been thoroughly aroused to the necessity for prompt action in the war on the deadly Tussock Moth and the killing Cottony Maple Scale which are infesting hun- dreds of shade trees in the village. Responding to the warning and sug- gestions issued by the Wilmette Im- provement association in last week's issue of The Lake Shore News asking residents to launch a tree spraying campaign to rid the streets of these pests, many residents have made ap- plication for use of the plan adopted by the association and the work is well in progress, according to Paul A. Hoffman, president of the Improve- ment association. Send Out Letters In addition to the information given the public in the news article in The Lake Shore News, officials of the Im- provement association this .week ad- dressed letters to all householders setting forth in detail the facts relat- ive to the spraying campaign. The news article and the letters have found ready response in many house- holds and scores of applications have been received by the association leaders. There is reason to believe that Wil- mette is awake to the dangerous con- dition and prepared to employ every means available to save the beautiful shade trees in both private and public places. Information is to be had by calling Paul A. Hoffman, telephone Wilmette 1103. - Want to Buy a Home? Use a Classified Ad Pre-War Prices â€" Perfect Work -# Good Material. Phone for Estimator. Among these are the Keyhole nebula, the Crab nebula, the Pinwheel nebula, the Dumbell nebula, the Owl nebula, the Horseshoe or Swan nebula, the Whirl- pool nebula, the Omega nebula and the North American nebula.
