During her absence Mrs. Margaret Fifer, of Wilmette, will have charge of her classes. The New Trier High school faculty believes in keeping up to date in their teaching\ methods. Many of the teachers \are pursuing courses at Northwestern university and the University qf Chicago lor advanced degrees. Miss Afargaret K. Shippen, one of ithe graduates who was awarded the Freshman scholarship for the current year at Northwestern university, has passed with high credit her examina- tions in English, Mathematics and a foreign language. Virginia Ogan is enrolled at the same school instead of at Sargent, as formerly reported. Walter Pattison, a former mem- ber of New Trier's Soccer team, is now on the Freshman squad at Harvard. October 26 he played half- back on the team that defeated Andover. Scout Troop Honors Memory of Roosevelt Beautiful Flag Ceremony Commemor- ate* Birthday of Great American; Award Tenderfoot Badges mour Burge, Junius Mulvey, Harold Spinney, Lloyd Lourie, James Wells, John Lang, George Racine. Seymore Burge, Ralph Orner, and Lloyd Lourie were presented with honor badges for special proficiency in scouting. Robert Boyden was ap- pointed tenderfoot patrol leader. Saturday afternoon the troop at- tended the football game between Northwestern and De Paul. The motto of the scouts is "Be Pre- pared", and one of the most im- portant features of the program is the daily "Good Turn". Troop N. 2 is perpared to do "Good Turns" for the community, and offers its service for any worthy cause. Subscribe For Your Local Paper A formal flag ceremony was one of the most important features of the special meeting of Wilmette Troop No. 2 Boy Scouts of America, held Saturday in honor of the birthday of Theodore Roosevelt, the friend of the Boy Scouts. After the flag ceremony, the troop was officially organized as a chartered troop of Boy Scouts. The boys are considering the troop name of Roosevelt in honor of the day.
