Two contributions have lately been acknowledged by the Illinois Head- quarters, 19 South LaSalle street, Chi- cago. MJss Dorothy Hess of ""Wil- mette sent $15.75, comprising gifts from the ^Primary Department of the First ^ Methodist Episcopal Sunday school, and a receipt has been sent to S. B. Pope, 675~Greenwopd avenue, Glencoe, acknowledging the offering of $143.85 from the North % Shore Methodist Episcopal church, of which he is the treasurer. In a report made to Congress under date ol March 31, Near East Relief reported that total expenditures of $63,800,000 had been made by the or- ganization during the last seven 'years. As a) result of this generosity on the part of the American people, over l,000,00t) women and chijdren were saved from starvation.'
