""I BOOK PUBLISHED Contains Data On Traffic jtules And Tours To Nearby Points DISTRIBUTED FREE North * H&horc Motor Club Takes Initiative A very interesting and handy pocket size hand book for the convenience of the car owner in Wilmette, Keml- worth and Glencoe has just been pub- lished by the north suburban branch of the North Shore Motor club, located in the Beake building, at the corner of Sherman avenue and Church street, Evanston, 111. This book which is known as the 1923 MOTORISTS' HAND BOOK is a 40 page book that answers a real need on the part of the local car owner and is furnished at no cost, since it is distributed free through the courtesy of the North Shore Motor club and a number of representative firms who have accorded it adver- tising Support. Digest of Rules The book contains not only a handy, comprehensive digest of traffic regula- tions and license rules for the north shore towns of Evanston, Wilmette, Kenilworth, Winnetka, Glencoe and Highland Park, but it contains also the special regulations and restrictions for each town, tqgether with maps and road guide information to lake "ire^Wt* ^«d points^©! interest-along the north shore. In the touring section of the book are listed over 40 lakes in northern -Illinois with shortest and best road routes, including log, maps, and mil- age to such points as Lake Geneva, Fox Lake, Taylor Lake, Rockford, Crystal Lake, Honey Lake, McCul- lom's Lake, Starved Rock, Dells, Kil- bourn, Dunes Highway, Eagle River, Rhinelander, and the various Cook county Forest preserves. Stromberg of the Evanston branch of the North Shore club informed this paper, "in summarizing the various ^regulations, and in presenting the road guide arid resort information, errors may have crept in or certain data may have been omitted. Fire Drflls Train Men At Evanston Auto Shop A fire drill by the employes of the Public Service company's automobile shop at Evanston has been instituted. Each man is assigned a particular station to be taken when a fire alarm is given, each with special duties to perform. The men are snapping into the drill with great energy. Two "recent acquisitions to the com- pany's automobile fleet are performing work on the big steel tower transmission line building from the new generating station at Waukegan down to Evanston. Each is a Fordson tractor hauling a 2^-ton semi-trailer.
