After said roadways have been cleaned, the remaining portions of the present macadam pavement shall be scarified, graded and reshaped and a two and one-half (2V4) inch layer of medium sized crushed limestone shall be spread thereon. That part of the intersection of Twelfth Street and Hill Street lying South of the North line of the North curb of Hill Street extended from the West and between the back of the West curb of Twelfth Street and the back of the Northeast curb of Prairie Avenue and that part of the intersec- tion of Hill Street and Prairie Ave- nue lying between the back of the North curb of Hill Street and the Southwest curb of Prairie Avenue and the arc of a circular curve of twenty- five (26) feet radius tangent to the back line of said curb shall be exca- vated so that the sub-grade upon which the crushed stone foundation shall be laid will be eleven and one- half (11%) inches below the grade of the finished pavement after being thoroughly rolled. Said sub-grade shall then be thoroughly rolled with a ten (10) ton roller or equivalents tamped so as to give an unyielding The present curb and gutter and the sidewalks within the aforesaid portions of the Twelfth and Hill Street Intersection shall be removed and a new curb and gutter of the same size, kind and quality shall be constructed from the West curb line of Twelfth Street to the Northeast curb line of Prairie Avenue and shall be rounded into said curbs on the line of circular curves of fifteen (15) feet radius tangent to said new curb and gutter and to said curbs of Twelfth Street and Prairie Avenue. The sidewalk and curbing shall be removed from that part of the inter- section of Hill Street and Prairie Ave- nue, hereinbefore described, and a new concrete sidewalk shall be con- structed to meet the top of the new The Southwest half (SW%) of the brick pavement of Prairie Avenue and the North half (N%) of the brick pavement of Hill Street adjacent to that part of the intersection of said streets hereinbefore described and the Northeast half (NE%) of the brick pavement of Prairie Avenue from the West curb line of Twelfth Street pro- duced to the North curb line of Hill Street produced shall be taken up and the macadam foundation shall be loosened to the depth of two (2) In- ches and additional crushed limestone of the sine known as medium added to bring the grade up to conform to the additional width of pavement. The new stone shall be bonded with lime- stone screenings and the brick relaid on a sand cushion one (1) inch thick and the joints between the brick filled with sand. On the part of the inter- section of Twelfth Street, Prairie Avenue and Hill Street, herein pro- vided to be excavated and rolled or tamped, shall be spread a six (6) inch layer of coarse limestone macadam, which shall be bonded with limestone scieenings and rolled, and on top of that shall be laid a three (3) Inch lay- er of medium limestone macadam bonded with limestone screenings and rolled with a ten (10) ton roller. On top of said three (3) inch layer shall be laid another layer two and one- half (2%) inches thick, without screenings, which shall be rolled and prepared for asphaltic binder. The new curb and gutter shall meet the old curb and gutter evenly and the grade from Twelfth Street to Prairie Avenue shall be uniform. Ihe catch basin inlet at the pres- ent junction of aforesaid curbs and the catch basin at the new curb, cor- ric. of Hill Street and Prairie Avenue, shall be moved and set in place in the new curb and gutter directly back of their present location and reconnected with the sewer with six (6) inch vit- rified tile pipe. At the -Northwest corner of Hill Street and Prairie Avenue, on the sub- grade as excavated between said old curb and gutters shall be spread a layer of coarse crushed limestone Tour (4) Inches thick, bonded with .u.,esioiie screenings and rolled with a ten (10) ton roller and on top of „hat a four (4) Inch layer of medium .i acauani, bonded and rolled as above, and on that a one (1) inch cushion of sand, and on that a layer of viti'tiled paving brick equal to that in Hill ,S,.tet.
