Description
- Full Text
While walking along on his regular post on Michigan avenue late Thursday night, December 6, Policeman Fred Kunze was suddenly struck on the back of the head with something which he later discovered was a gigantic blue heron. After "picking himself up" the officer revived the bird and took him to the station where he was locked up for the night. The following day the heron was taken to the Lincoln Park zoo where it was found that the bird was suffering from an infection in one eye which Kunze opines accounted for its uncertain flight.
