Evanston's Council Busy: Alderman William Eastman Last Night Asked Action on This Newspaper's Suggestion

- Action taken at meeting last night concerning rowdy behavior at beer hall, coal sheds of the Peabody Coal Co., and problems with break in the intake pipe at the water station. Alderman Eastman of the Sixth ward called attention to the disorderly conduct of the patrons of the dance hall and beer parlor which lies a little west of the city limits. Alderman James Turnock called for the deatruction of the dangerous coal sheds at Greenleaf and Chicago Avenue. Alderman Victor Rossback asked for information about the break in the intake pipe at the water station. He insuated that Alderman Knapp of the water committee misrepresented the facts. The Evanston Commercial Association will entertain the mayors who are here attending the state mayor's convention next week. Evanston City Council members are invited too. Alderman Topliff called for accepting the invitation. Permission to operate a bathing beach was referred to the police. Alderman Eastman called attention to the danger at the crossing of Central street by the elevated trains going to Wilmette. In the absence of Mayor Joseph E. Padn, Alderman Frank B. Dyche was chosen to act in his stead.
