- George R. Benson, Jr., a life-long resident of Winnetka, died Jan. 13 in Florida. He was 50. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; daughter Caryl B. Christie of Lake Bluff; and nine grandchildren. Survivors also include his sister, Katherine Culver of Kenilworth; and brothers George R. III of Casper, Wyo.; Kell B. of Winnetka; and Peter A. of Westfield, N.J.
