- Friends of Katherine Brooks Merrifield, a Wilmette resident who died in California last December, will gather at the Planned Parenthood Harris Center Friday to dedicate a special room in her memory. Family members who will attend the dedication ceremony include Mr. and Mrs. William Steen of Belvedere, Cal., her son-in-law and daughter; Robert B. Merrifield of Winnetka; and two granddaughters, Barbara and Virginia Merrifield
