- William S. Haines died at his home in Rancho Bernardo, San Diego, Cal. He was 76. He is survived by his wife Patricia; his children Sally Haines Welty of Flossmoor and William Haines of Worchester, Vt.; grandchildren Dana and Stephen Welty, and Liza and Cory Haines; and sisters Barbara Spaulding of Wheeling and Nancy Petre of Orchard Park, N.Y.
