- Tenth annual "Ten Mile Gold Medal Swim" of the Shawnee Country Club will be held Oct. 1. Event was conceived by swiming coach George Eckert. Mrs. Joseph Nate won her first medal in the 1929 swim. She was then Miss R. M. Campbell.
