Notes: Winners in the Wilmette Community Relations Commission's Black History Month student poem, poster and essay contest were announced April 24. Winning poster creators were Liah Watt, Kuilin Li, Jacey Birkenmeyer, Mahiro Sena, Rebecca Lee and Miriam Rovin, all of Romona School and Sofie Kupiec of Harper School. Timmy Ahlstrom, Katherine Dolan and Jordan Josellis, all of St. Francis, wrote the winning essays, and Stefanie Roti of Wilmette Junior High School won the winning poem. Copy of her poem, "James Brown" printed.
