- Dr. Douglas Williams Cook, 88, formerly of Evanston and Wilmette, died May 9 at his home in Hot Springs Village, Ark. Dr. Cook was born April 17, 1919, in Clinton, Iowa. Following the death of his wife, Betty Baumann Cook, in 1996, he married Bernice Williams. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Joan (Steven) Cohen of Castle Rock, Colo., and Judy (Donald) Bouma of West Linn, Ore.; one son, Douglas (Amy) W. Jr. of Suttons Bay, Mich.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four stepchildren, Lynne Lamprecht of Boise, Idaho; Lesly (Tom) Racine of Ann Arbor, Mich.; Laurie (Duane) Salonen of Omaha, Neb., and Norman E. Williams Jr. of Atlanta.
