- Dick Terry, 64, and several witnesses say he was standing in the middle of Illinois Road Friday with his yellow crossing-guard's stop sign as a car headed straight at him. Terry was cut and bruised but had no broken bones. The driver of the car, Lawson W. Holman, 84, of 1001 Emerson St., Evanston, was ticketed for failure to obey a crossing guard and to provide proof of insurance.
