- A team of five Northwestern students won a contest May 31 designing an advertising "branding" campaign for Wilmette retailers that stresses their strengths and downplays the fact that few stores have big national followings. The slogan they created was "small town, big (you name it)" Comments by Julie Yusim of the Wilmette Chamber of Commerce. She and Karen Spillers of Wilmette's Business Development Advisory Group, village development planner Lucas Silvertsen and Karen Dorman, membership services coordinator for the chamber, will meet later this month to discuss how to use the winning "brand" and other free advice from all 30 students.
