- Last spring the girls of New Trier high school decided to collect old magazines and send them to the Great Lakes naval training station for the use of the sailors. The Educational Director of the Navy Y.M.C.A. at the Great Lakes asked that only those of more recent date be sent as the boys do not enjoy stale magazines. Old magazines are sold to the junk man and the money used to buy fabric to make curtains for thewindows of the Y.M.C.A. Hut, Number 1 at the station.
