Comments: Art Bess who has hardware stores on Willow and Glenview road; Mike Kerrigan who has plumbing business in Wilmette; Jon Weiss of Weiss Ace Hardware on Waukegan Road in Glenview. The Wilmette Theater was operated single-handedly by Lazar Esho who ran the concession and operated the projector when owner Carole Dibo could not make it out of her neighborhood in Wilmette. Borders bookstore had many customers on Friday and Saturday who wanted to recharge their cell phones and laptops. Mike Ferrari at Norshore Meats and Deli in Wilmette had to give away 20 pounds of potato salad and move his frozen and fresh meats to a location downtown. Jay Schwartz, owner of Avondole Roofing in Northbrook, has more business than he can handle. Kashian Brothers Rugs, 1107 Greanleaf ave., Wilmette has fielded more than 300 calls since the storm hit says owner Doug Stein. The Bright Side, a Wilmette carpet and upholstery cleaner, had to refer callers to other companies with experience in flood damage says co-owner Noelle Kiener.
