The Wilmette Plan Commission was appointed by the Village Board of Wilmette at the suggetion of the Wilmette Civic Association. On March 3, 1915, the Wilmette Civic Association petitioned the village board to appoint a committee, the Wilmette Plan Commission, to propose comprehensive plans for future minicipal improvements. The following village residents wre appointed: Carl R. Latham, W. D. Matthews, H. C. Arms, J. D. Couffer, J. F. Stone, M. B. Skinner, C. E. Renneckar, George W. Kibby, Henry Fowler, E. R. Nourse, Dr. D. M. Gallie, Edward Zipf and H. M. Gardiner.

The commission will consider the building of a municipal electric lighting plant when the present contract for lighting the village with gas expries; our water supply, the employment of a village manager, plans for parking the Sanitary District right of way, and beautifying the village.
