- The streets of Wilmette are 39.1 miles in length. 24.6 miles are paved with brick, 5.9 miles with macadam, 3.9 miles witih asphalt, and .33 miles with concrete. 4.4 miles are unpaved. The longest street in the village is Lake avenue which is 9200 feet long.
Lake and Elmwood avenue are the only streets which extend from the lake to the west limits of the village. Formerly Forest avenue extended to the lake shore, but the land is now included in the park in front of the country club.
The center line of Elmwood avenue is the north boundary line of the Ouilmette Indian Reservation with Fifteenth street as the west limit and Central street, Evanston, as the south limit of the reservation.
