- New Trier now has 540 students enrorlled. The morning session rooms have been discontinued, each student reporting to his first period class or study-hall at 8:30 a.m.
Several school organizations are underway. Mr. Walker is in charge of the orchestra. The Elizabethan girls held a business meeting in Miss Raymond's room on Thursday. Miss Grover elected sponsor after the withdrawal of Miss George. Miss Norma MacMillan, will hold an informal reception for freshman candidates at her home on Thursday.
The Zenobian girls held a business meeting on Friday. Ruth Lieber appointed to get prices from vendors for the group's emblem.
Miss Harriet Lee, English instructor, is ill with appendicitis at Evanston Hospital. Miss Elizabeth Case of Wilmette is her substitute. The school library is open. Football and soccer practice has begun.
Last Saturday the first football game of th eseason was played between New Trier 1st team and an alumni team. The alumni were defeated. Touchdowns were made by Leonard Rose and Elmer Nilles, a goal from the field by Hardy Weedon, safety, David Nethercot. Names of participants for New Trier: Harold Killen, Paul Sample, Frank Rockhold, Walter Farrell, Donald Sample, Chester Ambler, Harold Gruver, Elmer Nilles, Andrew Digre, Hardy Weedon, David Nethercut.
