Changes in the IHSA rules has reduced the number of runners at the state meet. Coming off a third place finish at last Saturday's Niles West Class 3A sectional, Michael Schmidt of New Trier is set to earn the automatic All-State honors a top 25 finish at Peoria would bring. With a smaller field, runners can run more freely without having to jockey for position. Other runners mentioned include Patrickc Morris, Noah Graboys, Drew Hansen, Bryan Wolfe, Charlie Furse.

The New Trier girls' team finished 11th overall at the sectional. None of the Trevian girls claimed individual qualifying spots. Runners mentioned include Lauren Neuschel, Jesss Arneson, Maggie Shelton, Ellie Pearlman.

Regina Dominican sophomore Jacqueline Ave Maria will represent the Panthers as an individual at the Class 2A portion of the state meet. Also running for Regina was AMber Seo, Desire Knorr, Maggie Fahrenbach, Aileen Campanaro Photograph Jessica Arneson
