- John H. Davies of Wilmette held the contract for all the masonry work involved in transforming the former movie theater into a bank. It was necessary to tear out part of the old roof so a higher one could be built. A hole was cut in the old concave roof for the skylight. Then the floor had to be removed. The old theater had a sloping floor as is the rule in all theaters. Concrete 18 inches thick surrounds the vault.
