- At the Class 4A girls sectional basketball championship game at Maine South Thursday, Maine South's Allison Groessl was credited with a blocked shot against Loyola's Meghan Holy, what turned out to be a game-saving play in the home team's 44-43 upset of the top-seeded Ramblers.
The stunning setback ended Loyola's season at 25-7 while Maine South -- the No. 7 seed in the sectional field -- advanced to the supersectional with a 22-12 record.
But Holy believed she was fouled on the last play.
Also mentioned was Ashley Thomas, Karen Solari and Michelle Tourtillott, reserve Katie Wheeler, Sophomore guard Audrey Gaughan
