North Shore Country Day: North shore participants in Model United Nations event

National High School Model United Nations was held in New York March 12-15. North Shore students represented Iraq in simulations of various UN (United Nations) committees and related organizations. North Shore participants included Taylor Appelbaum of Highland Park, Tommy Brown of Winnetka, Joni Dema of Chicago, Hayley Formolo of Winnetka, Michael Gendell of Glencoe, Luke Gensburg of Glencoe, Becca Newmark of Wilmette, Sara Nydick of Northbrook, Lauren Olswanger of Glencoe, Andrea Strauss of Wilmette, Christoph Tries of Evanston, Eric Van Wart of Glencoe, Beth Vrotny of Northbrook and Nick Young of Winnetka.

A knit-a-thon was held March 9 to benefit the non-profit organization Afghans for Afghans. Upper School students Katie Cherry, Hopie Hambleton and Chloe Stahl all of Winnetka organized the fund-raiser

The Clockenspiel opened at North Shore's Almquist Gallery on March 14. This community fund-raising art exhibit featured clocks created by families, faculty and friends of North Shore.

The Upper and Middle School Science Olympiads competed in the regional finals at the College of Lake County in Grayslake March 8.

Middle School participants included: Madelaine Anson of Winnetka, Maya Aurichio of Evanston, Julie Block of Glenview, Hayley Bounds of Winnetka, Hayun Cho of Wilmette, Jack Colley of Winnetka, Clayton Cottingham of Evanston, Chandler Elliot-Fehle of Glencoe, Declan Falls of Evanston, Quinn Gray of Wilmette, Jonathan Green of Winnetka, Danny Hayes of Northfield, Youssef Ibrahim of Wilmette, Jake Kann of Wilmette, Rebecca Kirtley of Winnetka, Jonah Levi-Paesky of Northfield, John McHugh of Winnetka, Juliet Miller of Evanston, Sam Morrison of Wilmette, Alissa and Christopher Nolan of Winnetka, Alanna Peccia of Winnetka, Jenny Reinsdorf of Glencoe, Melissa Rizai of Glencoe, Tyler Salathe of Glenview, William Skinner of Winnetka, Mary Sturgis of Winnetka, Hannah Terwin of Glencoe, Patrick White of Winnetka and Virginia Wiltshire-Gordon of Wilmette.
