- Wilmette's public works departments recorded 35 snow events since the fall, up considerably from the average of 26 per season in recent years. The snowy season came close behind a fall in which crews were occuplied with cleanup from the windstorms that hit the village last August 23. The crews have also been busy fixing potholes. The village used 2,852 tons of salt over the winter on streets compared with 2,100 in previous years.
