Reports have it that a definite arrangement for the settlement of the trouble between the thousands of construction workers and the employers have been made. It is said that the final agreement will be drawn up and signed this week.
This will mean that the 800 or so men in evanston who took part in the lockout a month ago may return to work. Building operations were greatly impaired by the order for the men to stop work.

700 Quit on Dormitories
The 700 men employed on the Northwestern University dormitories quit work without any notice. The dormitories were to be completed by October so that the fraternity men could move in at the opening of the school year. The walkout created quite a havoc among the Greek letter men, ffor several of the fraternities had given up their homes, thinking that their new places of abode would be ready for them at the time agreed upon.
If the men return to work Monday the University officials and the contractor in charge think that by employing extra men the buildings can be finished by the opening of school.

Made Concessions
In the agreement the union men are said to have made concessions to the builders on many things which have been matters of dispute for many years. The unions and employers agree to sign bonds, which shall be forfeited if they fail to live up to the letter of their contracts.
It will be a violation of the rule for the union men to call a strike or the employers to call a lockout without first conferring with a joint artibration commitee. According to the members of the committees, this agreement will be one of the first of its kind between employers and union men.
