Ernest Mulligan, 2020 Sherman avenue, Evanston, is not easily scared. Under ordinary circumstances he is brave. But whan a man to whom he has addressed a casual question pokes a revolver in his face--well, he just doesn't stop to argue.
Last night he saw a colored man standing behind a tree on the Northwestern University campus. Mulligan asked him what he was doing there. The man told him it was none of his business, and emphasized his remarks by pointing a gun in Mulligan's face. Mulligan lost no time in getting away and notifying the Evanston police. Assistant Chief Johnson, Sergeant Dickinson [unclear] and Officers Paasch, Lannign and Ruland (you know the police car only holds five) whent up to overpower the dangerous man. He was gone when they arrived.- Featured Link
