Notes: Two former New Trier High School golfers scored top finishes at the Illinois State Amateur Championship last month at Cantigny Golf Club. They include Philip Arouca and Michael Slovitt.

Stephanie Hudson of Winnetka and Laura McKenna of Lake Forest combined for a first place finish at the 2008 Club 420 North American Sailing Championships at Lake Chautauqua in New York. Another New Trier sailor, Drew Shea, finished fourth at the Canadian Olympic Training Regatta. Other local sailors competing were Alex Post of Loyola Academy and Cole Rice of New Trier.
