- Realtors hope a new temporary state $7,500 tax credit will lead some first-time buyers to take the plunge and buy their first home. The credit is designed to tstimulate the real estate market, but ismore of a no-interest loan. Buyers will have to pay it back, but not until 2011, in increments of $500 a year for 15 years.
