- Officials considering Kenilworth's bid for village-wide listing on the National Register of Historic Places say the decision to remove several properties from the application threatens its chances for approval. Separately residents defeated an advisory referendum on the issue. A 42-page application for the district is scheduled for a Dec. 5 meeting at the Illinois HIstoric Sites Advisory Council in Springfield, the first step in the process.
