Wilmette Jr. High School was the top field hockey team in Illinois at the recent regional tournament. Wilmette placed third overall at Oak Park's annual Windy City Field Hockey Tournament. Wilmette is coached by Matt Malarski and Kay Churchill. Team members are Lizzie Armstrong, Audrey Baer, Beth Chelmowski, Meredith D'Arcy, Kristen Ann Fox, Glory Gummersall, Dana Hankin, Emma Harris, Elizabeth Manheimer, Sarah Mirkin, Kelsey Murray, Sarah Nelson, Maggie Noren, Clarisse Randolph, Courtney Roggekamp, Lindsey Siegel, Hannah Slowey, Maxime Smeekes, Annie Stahl, Lindsey Thompson and Renee Vesselinovitch.
Cross country
The Wilmette Jr. High School Wolves cross country team coached by Adrienne Ferrell and Nate Williams won the conference championship for seventh-grade girls and seventh-grade boys. The eight-graders who ran this year were: Alexander Maren, John Benson, Kevin Bode, Nina Byun, Tommy Clabby, Alan Cohen, Alex Cottingham, J. Ferbe, Joe Figura, Zan Fisher, John Friesen, Dominic Gattuso, Brad Gustafson, Brendan Hill, Laura Hill, Elisa Hillman, Hannah Horner, Ryan Kelly, Anthony Kosinski, Ryan Loftus, Bridget Maloney, Claire Marquardt, Kaitlin Medland, Ali Merchant, Paul Oh, David Park, Alex Pattulo, Betsy Powers, Jame Quirke, Caroline Roberst, Jeffrey Salvadore, Julia Wolf, and K.J. Wray.
