- The Kiwanis Club of Evanston's annual Beat the Streets event was held Sept. 19 at the Glenview Park District Golf Course. The outing raised over $10,000. Beat the Streets is a national organization with a chapter in Evanston. The event works with children from age 6 through eighth grade combining wrestling with adult coaching to help children acquire positive qualities for growth.
