Notes: Trustee O. W. Schmidt suggested that licenses should be granted to dealers in tobacco in Wilmette to sell cigarettes. The present ordinance prohibiting sale of cigarettes was being violated by local dealers, and was hard to curb. Lucy Page Gaston, prominent foe of cigarettes, may enter a protest. She has been working for years to prohibit the sale of cigarettes.
