It is now "Judge" E. P. Dunshee.
Justice of hte Peace Dunshee, who was elected in the township election, April 7, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Frank Pavlik, Jr., received his commission from Governor Dunne Tuesday morning. He will assume his duties next Monday, May 4, the day that all the newly elected justices of peace begin their work. For the present he will have his offices with M. E. Barker and Sons, 1127 Central Ave., with whom he is associated in the realty business.
There is one peculiar feature in the election of Mr. Dunshee, which probably never was experienced by another successful candidate. He was chosen without opposition since the name of Henry B. Corbett of Kenilworth, who was the candidate on the Grand Government ticket, was ruled off the ballot because his petition was not filed according to law. But he has not yet learned what total his vote was outside of Wilmette. He knew that without any doubt, he as elected and thus went about getting his bond, and otherwise qualifying for the office with only the knowledge of the vote received here in Wilmette.
Mr. Dunshee is one of the best known and most highly respected citizens of Wilmette because of his long service [?] as village clerk and and superintendent of public works, several years ago. He will be the ohnly justice of the peace in Wilmette who spends his entire time here. In fact with the exception of Justice Sanford A. Case [? unclear] of Glencoe, who is at present enjoying a vacation in the east, he is the only justice in New Trier township who can be found in his office practically all the time.- Featured Link
