- Volunteers honored Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a service project and a performance by the Glencoe Writer's Theater "MLK: The Fight for Civil Rights." Wilmete Junior High School was the site for a project to make blankets and scarves for donation to hospitalized children and homeless shelters. The project was sponsored by the Winnetka based Interfaith Housing Center of the Northern Suburbs and the Volunteer Center of New Trier Township
