Notes
Water quality at Wilmette beaches is tested twice a day, but the results are not known until the following day possibly exposing swimmers to high levels of e. coli bacteria. The state approved a grant for the Wilmette Park District to purchase equipment and computer software that will predict when the E. coli count likely will rise, based on the temperature, wave heights and wind speed.
