- Freshman Courtney Ackerman defeated defending champion Kristen Zillmer of Maine South last week in the CSL South quadrangular at Niles West. She also defeated Zillmer with a fifth place finish in the Wheaton North invitational New Trier won over Maine South, Evanston and Niles West on Sept. 29. Other runners mentioned include Jessica Ackekrman, Kacie Swierk, Allie Crimmins, Ellie Pearlman, Mara Dubnow. Comments by coach John Burnside.
