A tramp picked up at Main street and Chicago avenue, Friday, at 2 a.m. was given a free ride in the [unclear] automobile and given a free night in the [unclear] It was the thought that the wanderer was a suspicious character, but upon close questioning Assistant Chief of Police Johnston learned that he was merely a member of the vast army of unemployed and was roaming the street because he had no place of shelter for the night.
