Description

- Caption: The Memorial garden immediately east of the Wilmette Public LIbrary nears completion as Kenneth Caldwell, foreman, and Roy F. Clavey, both of Deerfield, last week finished the permanent planting with the addition of six yew trees, a double flowering plum tree, and a ground covering of euonymus.
This has been the project of the Wilmette Garden Club which last year planted the six-foot Hawthorne hedge and the large pin oak tree. With the addition of a stone terrace, to be laid next year, the garden will provide an attractive outdoor reading room or Library patrons.
Funds for the garden are being realized from various benefit projects and memorial contributions from Wilmette families. Any one desiring to make a contribution as a memorial to aid in the completion of the garden, may do so in care of the Wilmette Public Library. - Media Type
