A. J. Byrne has returned fro a stay at the Isle of Pines. Dr. and Mrs. O. D. Swain had for their guests last week their daughter, Mrs. Merritt Bigelow. Mr. and Mrs. William Glasner entertained at a dinner party Thurday evening in their home, 850 Sheridan road. Mrs. Wilbur Sample entertained members of her Bridge club in her home, 670 Grove street, Monday afternoon. Mrs. Albert O. Olsen, 775 Sheriday road, entertained members of the Basket club in her home Friday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph M. Schinler, 859 Vernon avenue, are the proud parents of a daughter, born Thurday, Feb. 5. Samuel R. Hurford has returned from Ottawa, Ill., where he was called last week on account of the death of his uncle, Joshua Rodgers. A dance will be given in the Woman's club building, Winnetka, tomorrow night by Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin E. Miller. Miss Helen Calhoun, who is a student in the University of Wisconsin at Madison, was the guest of her parents last week during the short vacation between semesters. Dr. A. S. C. Clarke, pastor of the Second Presbyterian church of Evanston, gave an interesting talk before the member of the Men's club in the Union church Monday evening.
