- Area schools have been making staff cuts to cope with the cuts in state funding. Wilmette School District 39 has not yet cut positions for the 2010 year. The district expects to lose at least $1 million in state funding under the governor's budget proposal. Avoca District 37 expects to lose about $300,000 in state funds. New Trier Township High Scohol District 203 may loose $900,000 in state aid.
