- To better the moral conditions along the shoreline, Wilmette Board of Trustees has placed officer A. P. Graham on the beach every day from noon to midnight. This all came about due to nearby residents' complaints about orgies taking place along the lake. Mrs. James A. Britton presented a talk to the Wilmette Village Board to convince them something had to be done about this ongoing vice problem. Since officer Graham has been patrolling the lakefront, several Chicagons have been brought into the police station and have been told never to come back to Wilmette. Village leaders who are steering the anti-vice crusade are going to form a new organization to look after the welfare of children. One of their tasks will be to urge other Lake Shore villages to have police patrol their beaches. Officer Graham who had been patrolling for speeders has been replaced with Marshal Sieber and Officer Hoth.
