- A committee working on a master plan for the Wilmette Village Center is considering moving Village Hall west of Green Bay Road next to a boutique grocery store. The discussion was led by Scott Freres, principal of the Lakota Group, hired last year by the Wilmette Village Board to help plan the future of the downtown business district. The preferred development plan includes moving Village Hall to Park Avenue between Centrala nd Wilmette avenues, a five-story parking deck along Central and retail storefronts on Central, Green Bay and Wilmette. The Lakota Group returns July 28 with more focused development blueprints.
