July 20, 4 p.m.: Blank Books, for children entering grade 4 and up. Participants will create a special book, with hand-sewn pages and decorated covers. All materials will be provided. July 21, 7 p.m.: Parent/Tween Book Discussion Group will discuss Schooled by Gordon Korman. July 26, 6:30 p.m.: High School Students' Book Discussion Group will discuss Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan. July 28, 7 p.m.: Truly Remarkable Loon combines comedy and juggling with a love of books and reading. The performance will be on the front lawn. July 31, 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.: Animeniacs anime club, open to youth entering grade 6 and up, featuring anime screenings and discussion, trivia contest, and Fanart and Manga workshops. Aug. 10, 7-7:30 p.m.: Stories in the Garden with the Storybook Mom, for ages 3 and older. Aug. 11, 7 p.m.: Parent/Tween Book Discussion Group, for youth in grades 5-8 and their parents, will discuss Savvy by Ingrid Law. Aug. 12, 6:30 p.m.: Screening of "Coraline," rated PG. Aug. 17, 7 p.m.: Screening of "City of Ember," rated PG. Aug. 28, 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.: Animeniacs Anime Club, for youth in grade 6 and up, will view anime screenings and participate in discussions and trivia contests. Stories in the Parks -- held on selected Mondays from 4-4:30 p.m. Preschoolers are invited for stories and songs with Wilmette librarians in local parks: Maple Park, July 19; Thornwood Park, Aug. 2; and Vattmann Park, Aug. 16. Gather near the tennis courts at each park. In the event of rain or extreme heat, storytimes will take place at the library. For information, call (847) 256-6945.
