- More Than 16,000,000 pounds of arsenic were produced last year. Output in the United States increased. Frank L. Hess of the U.S. Geological Survey just issued a report on arsenic. The report cites quantities and values of arsenic produced and imported. There are several types of arsenic. During this year, 4,996 tons of white arsenic, metallic arsenic and arsenic sulphides, valued at $247,323 were imported. The principal uses of arsenic are for making glass, insecticide and medicines.
